In my opinion the American people have lost that drive to be original, trendset, break molds, and just push the envelope of creativity to the max. In music, films, books, arts, man just overall life in general….it just seems we’ve got complacent. The powers that be have created little boxes for us to fit into and we willingly let it go down.

What happened to the critical thinkers and rebels in society? Those who took the leap of faith and weren’t so concerned with what the next man or woman thinks. Who weren’t concerned if this so called concept of success was attained or not. Those who just did things because they believed in it or just wanted to try something that hadn’t been done before. We’re missing that.

I know it’s people like that out there but on a larger scale that attitude and sentiment has been systematically sucked out of the American people. Ideas of what should and shouldn’t be done have been engrained in our psyche from such an early age. The pattern our lives is supposed to take has been engrained in us from such an early age. Risk takers are actually looked down upon by many in our society and labelled irresponsible, reckless, crazy, sporatic. We need some of that spotaneity and reckless abandon back into this country.

From arts, entertainment, to politics, we’ve become slaves to the recombinant culture. (look that up…it’s a heavy topic). I’m writing this all to say this, look for a way to break the mold in your life. Take control of your situation the best you can and start analyzing the reason you are doing the things you do on the regular. Granted we have to do certain things to survive in this country….but don’t let that box you in.

Think critically about matters that involve you and your community and don’t just accept the status quo. Don’t fall in line with new trends in music film clothing or whatever it may be just because that’s what your supposed to do. Like what you want to like damnit. Create what you want to create. Just had to get that off my chest. I know I will be pushing forward to punch my way out of the box…I hope you all will join me. As always I end saying …..PEACE

  1. I totally agree with this post. Some people are obviously afraid of rejection from the faceless masses of Potential fans/followers, so instead if carving out their own niche, they choose to adapt to the standard. It’s not right, but its definitely common. By addressing this issue you have not only inspired your readers to change but you have called out the guilty. I’m glad I checked this out, it was truly motivating.
